Concessionary rates are available for those on low incomes .
To create a local Artist and Maker’s Directory
This is to create work and commissioning opportunities, exhibition programmes, collaborative opportunities whist raising the profile of both established and emerging artists. There will be 6-12 artists and craftspeople in the Pilot Scheme, and many others working from their own studios in the community.
To Provide Resources for Artists and Makers
This includes providing community access to, and use of, facilities for encouraging high standards of art and promoting craft and craftsmanship, including specialist technical facilities (eg Print-making, Ceramics and 3D) and a flexible Education or Project space. This resource would be completely inclusive providing assistance and support for young. disabled or emerging artists and designer-makers, including affordable studio facilities, and bursaries.
To provide a trusted and exciting Arts News service
This website, optional rss feeds, newsletters and mailing lists will provide artists and makers with up-to-date arts news, up-coming events and work and skills opportunities, both locally and nationally. Artists will be able to use the lists and website to make contact with other artists and publicise their work and shows.
To enrich and encourage public support and involvement with the arts
The public will be actively encouraged to play a role in supporting and encouraging the arts and artists and makers in their locality. Businesses and individuals will have the opportunity to sponsor the work and development of artists and makers who might normally fall through the ‘net’ of traditional training or funding. The public can become Friends of the Trusts with all the perks that ongoing commitment brings, such as private views, sneak previews and invitations to visit artists in their studios. There is also the opportunity to become a Founding Member and play a major role in this exciting new venture or simply support local arts by attending exhibitions, making donations or purchasing arts and crafts.
